The 2002 U.S. Transplant Games was a four-day Olympic-style event for athletes who have received life-saving transplants. The Games represented the world's largest-ever gathering of donor families, transplant recipients and organ and tissue donation and transplantation professionals. The Games also demonstrated the success of transplantation while calling attention to the great need for organ donation. The event served to promote the health and fitness of transplant recipients and paid tribute to the families of organ and tissue donors without whose generous gifts of life there would be no Transplant Games. We hope you enjoy these highlights.
